Trades.Social is a social media and digital marketing service for Canadian trades businesses. We help roofers, plumbers, electricians, painters, landscapers, renovators and similar companies turn their everyday work into short video and before-and-after content, posted with the customer's permission on the platforms where their next customers spend time. We are not a contractor, and we never do trade work ourselves.
Who we are
Trades.Social is one of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. The group is Canadian and headquartered in Vancouver, BC, and serves clients right across the country.
- Sedighi.ca is Ali Sedighi's growth, marketing and technology consulting company. Brands under that umbrella include Trades.Agency, HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, Conv.ca and BusinessConsulting.ca.
- SAZ.ca, short for Strategy & Acceleration Zone, is the group's Canadian consulting firm for strategy, AI and revenue acceleration. Ali Sedighi founded it and is its Founder and Managing Partner.
Trades.Social sits within the Trades.Agency family, which focuses on trades and home-service businesses. Our sister site HVAC.Social does the same job for heating and cooling companies, which have a very different seasonal calendar.
Ali Sedighi, MBA
Ali Sedighi leads the strategy behind Trades.Social. He holds an MBA in Technology Management and has more than 17 years of digital marketing experience, starting in 2007, when he founded ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency.
Since then he has started Conv.ca, an agency devoted to conversion-rate optimisation, as well as MyAutomation.ca. He has worked with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and has built more than 150 live HVAC websites, including CombiBoiler.ca, GasBoilers.ca, RomaHeating.ca and HeatLand.ca. He lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia.
That HVAC background is relevant here for a specific reason. Home-service marketing, whatever the trade, depends on the same chain: a homeowner notices you, trusts you, contacts you, and gets a fast and friendly reply. Years of measuring each link in that chain for heating companies shaped how we approach social media for every other trade.
How we work
Our approach rests on a few beliefs, each learned the hard way:
- Your crew is the content. Homeowners want to see the people who'll be in their house, doing the actual work. We coach your team to film; we don't replace them with actors or stock footage.
- Consent is part of the craft. Every photo and clip of a customer's home starts with a clear yes. Our photo consent guide is free for anyone to use.
- Two platforms done well beat five done badly. A platform playbook decides where your effort goes.
- Social media supports the phone ringing; it rarely replaces search. We're honest about which job each channel does.
- You own everything. Your pages, ad accounts, photo library and footage stay in your name.
What we don't do
We don't do trade work. We aren't a contractor, we never install, repair or service anything, and we never bid on jobs or refer work to competitors. We also don't buy followers, use engagement pods, run giveaways that ask people to tag strangers, or post anything we can't confirm is your work and approved by the customer.
We don't give legal advice either. Where privacy, anti-spam or language rules matter, we summarise and link the official sources and suggest checking with a lawyer when a situation is unusual.
Why "trades" and not "HVAC"
Most of our published results come from HVAC marketing, and we say so plainly. Those results from our HVAC work show a method that transfers. But a painter's best content, a landscaper's busy months and a roofer's safety considerations on camera are different from a furnace company's. Trades.Social exists so those businesses get advice written for them, not adapted from heating and cooling.
Where we work
We serve trades businesses in all 10 provinces and 3 territories. Climate, language rules and local business mix differ a lot across the country, and the areas page has notes for each region. Your location matters mainly for what you film and when.
Get in touch
The fastest way to see whether we're a fit is a short conversation. The first 30-minute consultation is free for eligible trades businesses, and plans are month-to-month. Read about our services or call, text or email; you'll talk to a senior strategist, not a call centre.
