Pick your starting service by asking one question: what is stopping you from posting today? If the answer is "we never get the photos", start with before-and-after content. If it's "we have photos but nobody watches", start with short video. If it's "we post, but on the wrong apps", start with a platform playbook. Paid social comes last, once there is content worth paying to show.

Short video for trades crews
Short video is for businesses whose work looks satisfying in motion: pressure washing, drain clearing, roofing tear-offs, paving, tile, fence installs, sod laying. Ten seconds of a clean cut or a fresh coat of stain will hold attention longer than any graphic.
The service gives you a shot list per job type, a filming routine that takes about five minutes per job, editing with captions, and a weekly publishing schedule. It suits teams with at least one person per crew who doesn't mind holding a phone. Full details are on the short video page.
Before-and-after content systems
Before-and-after posts are the most reliable content a trade has, because they show proof instead of claims. The weak point is always consistency: a "before" shot from one angle and an "after" from another, or a great result with the homeowner's family photos in the background.
This service builds the system around those problems: standard angles, a lighting checklist, a consent text template, a naming convention for the photo library, and a posting format for each platform. It suits renovators, painters, landscapers, flooring, cleaning and restoration companies especially well. See before-and-after content.
Platform playbooks
A platform playbook is a written plan for which apps you use and exactly what goes on each. Facebook still reaches homeowners in many smaller Canadian communities, Instagram suits visual trades, TikTok and YouTube Shorts reward volume and personality, and LinkedIn matters if you sell to property managers, builders or commercial clients.
The playbook tells you which two platforms to focus on, what to post on each, how often, and what to ignore. It is the right first step for owners who want to keep posting in-house but stop guessing. Read more on the platform playbooks page.
Paid social for trades
Paid social puts a modest budget behind posts that have already proven themselves organically, aimed at the postal codes you actually serve. It works for trades with planned, higher-value jobs such as roofing, renovations, landscaping or windows, where a homeowner may watch your work for weeks before calling.
It is not a substitute for search ads when someone needs a plumber tonight. We are open about that trade-off on the paid social page.
How the services fit together
The services build on each other in a fairly predictable order:
| Stage | What you're fixing | Service to use |
|---|---|---|
| No usable content | Photos are missed, inconsistent or lack consent | Before-and-after content systems |
| Content, no attention | Posts get little reach or watch time | Short video for trades crews |
| Effort in the wrong place | Posting everywhere, results nowhere | Platform playbooks |
| Proven posts, small audience | Good content seen by too few local people | Paid social for trades |
Many owners start with one service and add another after 90 days. That is fine. Plans are month-to-month, and the pricing page explains what each plan covers.
What none of these services include
None of them include trade work. We are a marketing and consulting service and not a contractor, so we never install, repair or service anything. We also don't buy followers, run giveaways that require tagging strangers, or post content we cannot confirm is yours and approved by the customer.
If you're unsure where to begin, the FAQ answers common questions, and our guides show the methods in detail. Or call, text or email and describe the last three jobs your crew finished; that's usually enough to recommend a starting point.
Frequently asked questions
Which service should a small trades company start with?
Usually before-and-after content, because every job already produces it and it needs the least time on camera. Short video comes next, once the crew is comfortable with the consent routine and the shot list.
Can I buy just one service?
Yes. Plans are built around what you need. Some owners only want a platform playbook so their office can post in-house; others want us to handle filming coaching, editing and publishing.
Do you manage comments and messages?
We set up saved replies and a clear routing rule so enquiries reach whoever books jobs. Many owners prefer to answer customers themselves, and we think that is often wise.
Will you film on site?
Normally no. Your crew films on their phones, because they are already there and homeowners trust them. We coach, plan and edit. For bigger shoots we can point you to full video production.
